Why dive with Khao Lak Diving?
Khao Lak Diving is a collective of SCUBA Diving Instructors who found a common belief that diving should be safe, educational and fun. Our passion for diving is infectious and our guests find that they learn more than they expected about our region, the marine life and how to protect it all - and still have a great time!
Just about everyone at Khao Lak Diving has traveled and dived all over the world (none of us has dived in Antarctica...yet) but the beauty of the Similan & Surin Islands, as well as our beautiful town of Khao Lak has bewitched all of us.
We are proud to be leading the conversion to "green diving". Our boat is run on partial biofuel, we use only biodegradable soaps and detergents - even the towels are fair-trade organic cotton. We do more than talk about changing things for the better - we do them. Look for styrofoam on our boat - there is none, we supply picnic baskets instead of dispoasbale containers. Heck - we even try to conserve air when we're diving :)
We guide our dives personally; we donate portions of our proceeds to local charities as well as our time.
We don't do "beach clean-up days". Every day is beach clean-up for us. We always maintain a "no impact" dive ethic, trying to observe and preserve our dive sites for all future Andaman sea scuba divers. You will never see gloves on our divers, fish-feeding is also discouraged and we even have safety equipment of European Standards. Finally - we are not into the "macho" diving thing - we like fish and would rather spend longer underwater than go deeper. This about the experience - not proving something
Safety
We are fanatics for safety. With a Dive Medic on staff and all staff fully trained in all DAN courses - we take your safety very, very seriously. We have been quite active in the setting up and operating of our local evacuation clinic (we volunteer our time there) as well as creating the evacuation protocols here and on the Similan Islands.
More than Diving
You'll also find that we offer so much more. Our Snorkeling Tours are famous for the attention and knowledge that we share. With overnight bicycle tours, trekking, golfing, snorkeling, kayaking all within a few minutes of Khao Lak we often take our guests for excursions ourselves. If you need a ride to the airport - we do it!

All our staff have extensive safety training from Diver Safety. We also involve you in our ongoing projects like Whale Shark Conservation, Greenfins and Reef Check.
